Collecting, modeling and evaluating social interactions between a robot and human partners in a digital interview and form-filling task.
It will be based on the Mical platform, which provides an immersive teleoperation of a robot: the Nina robot, facing its virtual tablet and two human partners.
The aim of this immersive teleoperation is to collect data on interactions between robot and interlocutors (stage 1): speech, gazes, turns of speech, backchannels, with a complex humanoid robot (articulated lips, jaw, head and gaze). This original corpus will enable us to study and model this type of interaction in our respective fields of expertise: speech and language at LPL, co-verbal signals at GIPSA, physiological/cognitive aspects at INT. On the synthesis side (stage 2), the focus will be on co-verbal signals: robot (or conversational agent) gaze and head direction. Evaluation (step 3) will compare 2 validation paradigms: on-line video judgment and electrodermal signals.
The robot is the host and referee of a collaborative game. It proposes a theme to the players, and asks them to try to find the words most quoted by other players. Each time they agree on a proposal, the robot consults the tablet to find out the score for the word proposed. After 5 proposals, the theme changes. In addition to a training theme (formula), 8 themes are played (in random order).
