International Collaborations

Montenegro University (Multimedia Signal and Systems Lab and TFSA group)

Collaboration with University of Montenegro - Multimedia Signal and Systems Lab (managed by Professor Srdjan Stankovic) and TFSA group (managed by Professor LJubisa Stankovic) which started in 2004 and which gave rise to numerous theoretical contributions (see Publications): complex time distribution, robust time-frequency representations, multimedia applications. Since 2017, Isidora Stankovic’s thesis allows us to advance in the field of signal representation using compressive sensing analysis.

Our long collaboration has been supported by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Pelikan, ECO-NET 2007, 2007-2009), European (Tempus RICUM, 2011-2014) and International (CS-ICT, 2014-2017) and three workshops have been jointly organized (Multimedia Signals and Systems). The common publications are numerous, since 2004: 12 journal papers and more than 15 conferences.

  • Work visit to ISEE platform of Montenegrin research team in January 2017

Villanova University (Pennsylvania)

Collaborations with Villanova University (Pennsylvania), with Professor Moeness AMIN on the topics of the analysis of non-stationary signals and applications in radar and acoustics. This collaboration started in 2007 was continued and gave rise to exchanges of master and doctoral students (Ion Candel, in 2013) as well as to joint scientific communications. I was also scientific visitor to Center of Advanced Communications (CAC) of Villanova University in 2009. My stay has been funded by VSP (Visitor Scientific Program) provided by Office of Naval Research Global (ONRG). The collaboration has been fruitful, subject of four common scientific papers and the signature of a memorandum of understanding between Villanova University and Grenoble INP - CAC Signs 10th International Memorandum of Understanding | Villanova University. Thanks to this memorandum, five students from Grenoble INP/SICOM made their internships at Villanova between 2010 and 2012.

Arizona State University (ASU)

Collaborations with Arizona State University (ASU), School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering with Professor Antonia Papandreou-Suppappola. These collaborations started in 2007 are defined around the development of new methods of time-frequency analysis with applications in underwater signal processing and communications in dispersive systems.

  • With Professor Antonia Papandreou-Suppappola in July 2014 at the organization of a doctoral seminarby the Security and Defense Systems Unitiative by ASU

The partnership with ASU allows the internships of three students from Grenoble INP as well as a doctoral stay (Nicolas Josso, in 2009). These internships and doctoral stay have been conducted to 5 five common publications and one chapter contribution in a collaborative book on Wireless Communications Over Rapidly Time-Varying Channels, Academic Press, 2011.

Ryerson University

Collaborations with Ryerson University, with Signal Analysis Research Group (Home - Signal Analysis Research Group - Ryerson University) lead by Professor Sridhar Krishnan. These collaborations are defined around the development of new methods of non-stationary signal analysis with applications in biomedical, multimedia and power engineering.

  • With Professor Sridhar Krishnan (in the middle) and Ion Candel (Research engineer GIPSA) in April 2016, during the work visit at the Centre for Urban Energy of Ryerson University.

The partnership with Ryerson University allows the internship of four students from Grenoble INP as well as a doctoral stay (Cindy Bernard, in 2014). These internships and doctoral stay have been conducted to 5 five common publications. This strong partnership has been also the source of the organization of a common workshop on “Signal and Data Analytics in HealthCare and Energy”, Toronto, 24-25 August 2016 founded by Ryerson University et Le Consulat Général Français à Toronto.

APL, Seattle

Collaborations with APL, Seattle around the topic of underwater signal processing of oceanic environment monitoring. These collaborations have been materialized by two doctoral stay (Nicolas Josso, 2009 and Florian Dadouchi, 2012) as well as three work visit that I made (2010, 2012, 2013). In 2013 I had the opportunity to give an invited seminar:

Military Technical Academy of Bucharest

Collaborations with the Military Technical Academy of Bucharest, around the theme of the analysis of non-stationary signals by using techniques based on phase diagrams (with the research team managed by Professor Alexandru SERBANESCU). This collaboration, started in 2007, was continued and it gave rise to exchanges of master and doctoral students (within the framework of the Erasmus program), two theses in double degree agreement (Angela Digulescu, 2014-2017; Denis Stanescu, 2019-2022) as well ten publications. Our long-term collaboration has been also materialized by the organization of three workshops at the occasion of IEEE Communications conference, in 2008, 2010 and 2014.

  • Bucharest, May 30th 2014, at the occasion of the workshop on Non-Stationary Signal and Image Processing: Theory and Application

"Politehnica" University of Bucharest

Collaboration with "Politehnica" University of Bucharest, around the theme of time-frequency analysis in radar applications. This collaboration, started in 2009, was continued and it gave rise to exchanges of master and doctoral students (within the framework of the Erasmus program), a thesis in co-supervision (Andrei Anghel, 2012-2015) as well as 9 journal publications.
